 "finding": "One vibrator at 10.69 Hz, 30 m from the bench's chamber, read over the same 24.6 s. Geophones over the chamber find it with 11.2 kN of force at a quiet site and 1,062 kN at a noisy one, when the ground over it moves at 85 and 8.0 um/s. The satellite, with 21 corner reflectors laid across the chamber, needs 2.52e+10 N, the ground moving at 190 mm/s: 2.2e+06 times the geophones' force. On natural ground there is nothing to track: over open plateau the real image's brightest point stands 12 dB over the speckle, and its 33 points of 10 dB or more are what speckle alone gives (32). Run whole, the chain recovers 99% of the vibrator's own motion at 1.6e+09 N, where the reflectors move at up to 50 mm/s (the measurement control), while the chamber stays out of reach there; at the boundary the reflectors move at up to 0.76 m/s and the tracker recovers 4% of it, so that boundary is a floor."
